The exhibition
Besides being a kitchen utility a Rivjern, or Grater in english, is a slang for a certain kind of woman, positive (admiringly) and negative (condescendingly), that you certainly don’t want to upset, but also gets things done.
The theme of the exhibition is women and gender roles. Argus thinks there is a tendency to look back and idolies traditional gender roles of the 50s, a time when women stayed at home and in the kitchen. Looking at the political situation in Putins Russia, Trumps America and other countries womens rights suffers a set back.
